Pastor Montrell Whitaker is a native of Shreveport, LA. He is a 1998 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School with honors as well as a 2002 graduate of the University of Louisiana Monroe with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration concentration in Business Management. He received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix Dallas Campus in August of 2006 and received his Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University in May of 2015. He is also continuing his educational endeavors through the Masters of Education in Educational Leadership program at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX with an anticipated graduation date of May 2016.


He has served in a number of roles within the various ministries throughout the Southern Region of the United States. Currently, he serves as the senior pastor of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Shreveport, LA. Since arriving at Bethlehem in February of 2015 the membership has had a 54% increase in attendance and a 29% increase in members participating in active ministries.


He is the president of the Young Pastor’s Association of Shreveport, member of the 13th District of the Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Convention where he serves as Director of the Young Adult Ministry (YAM), and serves as secretary and praise leader for the Late Night/Evangelical Board for the Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Convention. He is also a member of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.


Pastor Whitaker is the Special Education Department Co-Chair at Booker T. Washington Middle/High School.  He has dedicated his life to aiding and teaching at-risk youth for the last 10 years. He is a motivational speaker, life coach, and the CEO of Creative Life Consultants, LLC. a life and career coaching organization. He is the founder of the M-Pact Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on improving the academic standards of at-risk youth and working towards inner-community improvement. Pastor Whitaker has many social involvements including membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons of Louisiana, NAACP, Habitat for Humanity, and the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. He is the proud husband of Mrs. Shenika Whitaker, a gifted minstrel of God who has dedicated her life’s work to serving the Lord.


He credits God for all things that he has been able to accomplish and quotes, “To God Be the Glory for the Things He Has Done.”
